A welding machine for seam-like joining of synthetic material foils or coated fabric, has a housing 1 and an abutment and feed mechanism 11 which comprises upper and lower pressure rollers 9, 10 wherein a particular type of welding unit (ultrasound unit 14, 32) of the machine can be exchanged for a welding unit of a different type (e.g. heated air type 15). The housing 1 includes a base, which supports a column 4, a stand 5 and an arm which terminates in a head 7. The housing includes at least two alternatively usable mounting surfaces 12, 13 for the different welding units. Ultrasound welding unit 14 includes a support having two hinged plates. The support is adjustable for angular adjustment of the tool and includes a wedge member that is finely adjustable to allow fine setting of the welding point of the tool. <IMAGE> |
