The resistor flat strip coil is fitted in a housing, through which flows a cooling liq. flows, while its electrical terminals pass through a housing wall. The flat strip coil (2,4) is surrounded on all sides by an electrically insulating plastics or cast resin layer (7). Pref. the flat strip coil is coated with an elastic, smooth plastics material, at least partly surrounded by the insulating plastics material or cast resin layer. The coil may be coated by a highly heat-resistant layer, also surrounded by the plastics material or cast resin layer. USE/ADVANTAGE - For circuit or brake resistor for electric rail vehicle, fully usable with water as cooling liq.
