A locking bolt for an espagnolette mechanism has a T-shaped head 14 which, when the locking bolt is extended from a window leaf 22 into a fixed window frame 23, is rotated to lock the locking bolt to the frame in such a way as to resist separation of the leaf and the frame in a direction parallel to the length of the locking bolt. This prevents the locking bolt being rendered ineffective by such levering action. <IMAGE> |
