PURPOSE: To perform a substantially continued focusing in an ultrasonic wave scanning line by providing arrays each of which has an output every prescribed tap on a delay line, and adding the total output from each array corresponding to the tap of the delay line. CONSTITUTION: The delay line has delay line taps 12.1-12.M, and the system 10 has an ultrasonic transducer 14 having transducer elements 14.1-14.N. Each switching circuit supplies a substantially constant dc output regardless of the state of the circuit. The array output every delay tap 12.1-12.M is totaled, and the total output is added to the tap as input. The dc input to all the taps 12.1-12.M is kept substantially equally to allow the continuous focusing of beams. Thus, the quality of image is improved, and an artificial result by switching can be kept less than a prescribed level to prevent the display of an undesired image. |
