PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricant for working the terminal of an electronic component which can improve the lubricity and workability of the terminal during working and eventually increase working efficiency by using a specific compound ester and a specific alpha-olefin. CONSTITUTION:A lubricant for working the terminal of an electronic component which comprises 3-30 parts by weight of compound ester obtained by subjecting 1 or 2 OH groups of a polyhydric alcohol (e.g. trimethylolpropane) to esterification with a saturated dibasic acid (e.g. adipic acid) and then subjecting remaining OH groups to esterification with a straight-chain aliphatic acid (6-10C aliphatic acids are preferable for the prevention of thermal discoloration and for the improvement of lubricity); and 97-70 parts by weight n-alpha-olefin (those with 16 or less carbon atoms are preferable, because the use of alpha-olefins with 17 or more carbon atoms results in lowered volatility and poor thermal decomposition properties, and for the prevention of discoloration, those with 14 or less carbon atoms are still preferable). When employed in processing terminals of electronic components, this lubricant improves the lubricity and processability of terminals, and eventually increases processing efficiency. |
