PURPOSE:To obtain a non-destructive examination method for the sprayed coating in a sodium-sulfur cell which is capable of discriminating the quality such as the density and the porosity on the surface of and inside of the sprayed coating on the inner surface of an anode container in an easy manner and with high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:A sprayed coating 2 is irradiated with X-ray from an X-ray device 7 in a non-destructive examination method for the sprayed coating 2 formed on the inner surface of an anode container 1 in a sodium-sulfur cell. And the image pattern obtained by an image processing device 8 connected to the X-ray device 7 is observed. When the linear pattern or the checkered pattern which mainly consists of the linear pattern is included, a judgement is made that the quality of the sprayed coating 2 is within the allowable range. On the other hand, in the case of the checkered pattern, a judgement is made that the quality of the sprayed coating 2 is not good. |
