PURPOSE:To provide the production process for unburned magnesia-carbon bricks having high oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance and spalling resistance, thus solving the problem of carbon pick-up, increasing oxidation resistance which is one of the common defects in carbon-containing bricks and achieving prolonged life of the furnace even when the operation temperature is raised and the slug composition changes. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. of a refractory material comprising 70 to 99wt.% of the magnesia sources and 1 to 30wt.% of graphite are combined with 0.1 to 10 pts.wt. of a foaming agent of 1 to 20mum average particle diameter. Further, 100 pts.wt. of the resultant composition are mixed with 1 to 10 pts.wt. of one or more of metallic Al, Mg and Si and the material is molded and dried. |
