PURPOSE:To carry out traveling to which a great importance to acceleration performance and high speed performance is attached by selecting the drive motor control mode between first and second control modes. CONSTITUTION:When a driver selects 2-range, a CPU 43 delivers a digital absolute position data, outputted from a pole detecting circuit 42, as it is to a ROM 44. In this case, stator coils for phases U, V, W or a DC brushless motor 11 are excited to produce flux in each stator coil in the direction substantially orthogonal to the flux produced by the pole of rotor. When the driver selects D-range, a main computor makes a decision that the rotational speed of the rotor of the DC brushless motor 11 has exceeded a set value based on a predetermined speed signal and the main computor delivers a phase difference command signal to the CPU 43 of a resolver circuit 16. According to the constitution, an electric automobile can be traveled while laying stress on high speed performance as well as on acceleration performance. |
