The use of a compound having the formula (see formula I) wherein R11, R12, R13, R14, and R15 independently of each other are hydrogen, CF3, NO2, NH2, OH, C1-6-alkyl, C1-6-alkoxy or phenyl; and R4, R5, R6 and R7 independently of each other are hydrogen, halogen, CF3, C1-6-alkyl, NO2, NH2, OH or C1-6-alkoxy, for the preparation of a medicament useful in the treatment of a disease in a mammal, including a human, which is responsive to blockade of potassium channels, and a use as above wherein 1- (4-methoxyphenyl)-indole is employed, and a use as above wherein psychotic disorders, memory disorders, Alzheimers disease, or diabetes 2 is treated, and further a use as above wherein the active ingredient is presented in the form of a pharmaceutical composition thereof, in which it is present together with a pharmaceutically- acceptable carrier or diluent.
