<p>A Time Division Multiple access radiotelephone system has a base transceiver that receives speech from, and sends speech to, the Public switched Telephone Network. The base transceiver encodes (CO, DEC) the speech in a 20 ms recurrent time slot for each associated mobile transceiver.
