The impact bar has a box profile light metal alloy extrusion which is fixed to both sides of the door so the inner flange faces inwards and the outer flange outwards as the two walls of the profile. The outer flange (21) of the impact bar (20f) should have two edge indentations (40,40n) half way along and spaced (g) both sides of a transverse plane through the bar, the plane coinciding with or close to (s1,s2) the longitudinal centre B (N) of the bar. The indentations are preferably in two planes (N1,N2).
