In a seat construction, esp. for vehicle seats, comprising a surface structure of one or more decorative layers and a substructure esp. for cushioning and shaping, the novelty is that the surface structure includes a spacer layer (3) consisting of upper and lower water and air permeable layers (5,6) which are spaced and joined together by intermediate filaments or struts (7,8), pref. made of polyamide, polyester or polypropylene. ADVANTAGE - The design provides simple and rapid transport of moisture away from the seat surface.
