Carbamide derivatives exhibit high biological activity and have potential uses as herbicides in agriculture, plant-growing in particular. They have the following general formula:<IMAGE>where Ar means phenyl, chlorophenyl, fluorophenyl, 2-chloroethyl, cyclohexyl or 2-naphthyl. They are obtained by reacting 2-aminothiazole with corresponding arylisocyanate in non-aqueous organic environment.
