Decontamination of soil contaminated with organic material - uses organic material to supply heat required for process

A mineral material, which contains organic material, esp. contaminated soil, is subjected to heat treatment in order to remove the organic material. The soil is first subjected to a heating process in which the heat is provided by the subsequent combustion of the organic material. The soil is then dried and subjected to a dry distillation process in which the organic fractions are precipitated. The soil is next subjected to a chemical-physical process and the residual product is then subjected to a carbonisation treatment or is burnt by using the organic fraction to supply the heat. ADVANTAGE - The process decontaminates the soil without polluting the environment.
