A fastening body (20) has a rotating ring (30) which is inserted between an insert body (32) and a mounting body (28). When the fastening body (20) is in the open position, in which a claw (44) engages completely in the fastening body (20), the rotating ring (20) is secured against rotation by means of a coupling device (60, 62) on the insert body (32). During connection of the fastening body of an aiming telescope to a retaining body on the shooting weapon, the latter abuts against an operating pin (66) in the insert body (32) and, via this, presses the coupling device (60) into the rotating ring (30), as a result of which the latter is unblocked and is automatically rotated as a result of a spring which is installed on the rotating ring, in order to lift the claw (44) out of the insert body (32), place it on the retaining body, and clamp the fastening body (20) on the retaining body. <IMAGE>
