PURPOSE:To always enable printing of high image quality without applying load to a printer controller by performing the conversion processing of an image signal corresponding to the resolving power of a printer engine indicated by the printer controller. CONSTITUTION:A laser printer is constituted by electrically connecting a printer controller 202, a signal processing circuit 205 and a printer engine part 201. The printer controller 202 outputs the signal RESO showing the resolving power handled by the printer engine part 201 and an image signal VDO to the signal processing circuit 205 which in turn performs the resolving power conversion processing of the image signal VDO due to interpolation logical circuits respectively corresponding to resolving powers of 300 and 600 dpi to select one output according to the signal RESO. This output is set to a signal SVDO and the printer engine part 201 performs printing on the basis of the signal SDVO. |
