PURPOSE:To transport CO2 safely in a mass quantity for a long distance by injecting liquid CO2 through a pipeline to a tanker, and forming solid CO2 in a hold. CONSTITUTION:Liquid CO2 having a good movability is transported through a pipeline and injected to a tanker, it is atomized under an atmospheric pressure in a hold, and it is deposited on snowy dry ice to form solid CO2. The snowy dry ice generaly has a large void ratio, so density control like that for solid dry ice on the market can be applied by simple consolication. Gas generated at the time of forming the dry ice is circulated, pressurized and liquefied while heat exchanging. Circulation and liquefication can be performed on site inboard, onboard the ship, or at a quay. Ample sea water can be used as a thermal source. CO2 can thus be transported safely in a mass quantity for a long distance. |
