Connector between chain and wire rope - has internal wedge and wire strands and pin for chain link

The connection between a chain and wire rope is designed to ensure strength in connector comparable with the chain and rope strength. The connector has a body (24) with an internal tapering longitudinal channel for holding the wire rope end. A solid wedge (34) with a matching tapering profile within the channel presses the wire rope strands against the tapering bore walls. This wedge can be disconnected from the housing (24) by a screw connection. The chain end link is held in a transverse pin (58) in the end of the connector. This end is attached by the screw connection.
