PURPOSE:To accomplish high-quality deformation processing for reduction without increasing the capacity of font data in an outline font system. CONSTITUTION:In a printing controller which generates outline data corresponding to respective characters by performing coordinate transformation of vector data read out from a font memory 11 by a coordinate transformation processing part 12; the outline data is temporarily enlarged by specified magnification by an enlargement processing part 13, and then a dot pattern based on the outline data which is enlarged is developed in a bit map memory 16 by a development processing part 14, and the dot pattern is reduced to target reduction size by a reduction processing part 15. |
