PURPOSE:To decrease electrical resistance between a nickel-made conductive material and a porous layer using nickel by forming the porous layer using nickel on a porous layer comprising cermet of nickel and zirconia and formed on the surface of a solid electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A fuel electrode 21 given on the surface of a solid electrolyte 20 is of two-layer structure, a first layer 22 and a second layer 23. The electrolyte 20 comprises stabilized zirconia. The first layer 22 keeping contact with the electrolyte 20 is formed of cermet comprising nickel and zirconia or a sintered body comprising nickel oxide and zirconia. The second layer 23 is a porous layer comprising powdered nickel or powdered nickel oxide. The second layer 23 is formed on the surface of the first layer 22 by sintering or thermal spraying. This cell flows an H2 gas to an electrode 21 side under a predetermined operating temperature and flows air to the are opposite to the electrode 21 including the electrolyte 20 to generate power. Thus, sintering to the second layer 23 and a conductive material 24 is satisfactorily accelerated during the above action. The second layer 23 and the conductive material 24 are formed integrally at their boundary part. In addition, part of the electrode 21 is replaced with nickel, reducing electrical resistance. |
