PURPOSE:To provide a device with redundancy and to enable self-recovery corresponding to diagnostic result by permitting the same function as the conventional function of a failed part to be performed by means of the potential function of the other existing part. CONSTITUTION:When it is discriminated by an external trigger that a certain condition is generated in an image forming part 1, a ROM selection part 24 selects the ROM corresponding to the condition generated in the image forming part 1, a desirable function hierarchy and control sequence stored in the ROM are called, and the image forming part 1 is controlled by means of the called function hierarchy and control sequence. Then parameter simulation in the case a control ROM is replaced is performed and necessary adjustment is conducted. Thus, the remaining functioning parts are operated in a second combination different from a first combination without using the failed function part so that the potential function of the other function parts can substitute the conventional function of the failed function part within the plural function parts. |
