MANUFACTURE OF NICKEL ELECTRODE FOR ALKALINE STORAGE BATTERY

PURPOSE:To provide manufacturing method for a nickel electrode for an alkaline storage battery for which reduction of manufacturing cost may be reduced by improving the cycle characteristics of a battery using a nickel sintered substrate owing to reduction of the times of an active material filling-up operation and by raising the productivity of the nickel sintered substrate. CONSTITUTION:An active material filling-up operation consisting of the first process of soaking a porous nickel substrate in the impregnating aqueous solution of an acidic nickel salt, the second process of soaking the substrate in an alkaline aqueous solution and changing the aforementioned acidic nickel salt in an active material and the third process of drying the substrate while holding the aforementioned alkaline aqueous solution on the substrate, is carried out several times.
