<p>PURPOSE:To form another unit color filters onto previously formed unit color filters in such a manner that a part thereof do not overlap by shielding the light of the UV side transmission wavelength region of the previously formed red filters among the photosensitive wavelengths of the blue colored resists by a UV cut filter. CONSTITUTION:The unit color filters 3a, 3b of, for example, red R and green G are formed in correspondence to respective picture elements by dyeing, pigment dispersing and electrodeposition method, etc., on a transparent glass substrate 1 and thereafter, the colored resist 5 of the remaining one color B is applied thereon. The resist is then subjected to back exposing by UV rays via the UV cut filter 6. The parts irradiated with the UV rays without being shielded by the unit color filters 3a, 3b are made to remain, by which the unit color filters 3c of the blue B are formed together with a light shielding film 2 between the unit color filters 3a and 3b. Then, the surfaces of the color filters are smoothed and the visual angle characteristics of an STN color filter display is improved. The over edge defects at the time of patterning of ITO electrodes are prevented.</p> |
