PURPOSE:To easily produce the crystal core fiber which is the material of a org. nonlinear optical element which is controlled in orientation of the crystal and has a high nonlinear sensitivity. CONSTITUTION:A core material 1 consisting of an org. nonlinear optical material, etc., is introduced into a glass tube 4. The core material 1 is crystallized by pulling up the glass tube 4 while the glass tube is heated in a crystal growth furnace 3. At least the part including the core material 1 introducing part of this glass tube 4 has a prescribed inclination in the pulling up direction and regulates the direction where the core material 1 is crystallized to the direction orthogonal with the polarization direction of the crystal. As a result, the crystal of the org. nonlinear optical material is so oriented that its nonlinear sensitivity is enhanced. |
