PURPOSE:To convert and output inputted picture data into multi-value processing data with a desired resolution and to execute the conversion of resolution flexibly corresponding to various levels of resolution without complicated configuration and with less deterioration in the quality of the picture. CONSTITUTION:A picture is expanded in a picture memory 52 according to the resolution of picture data inputted through an input output interface 53. The expanded binary picture data are converted into multi-value processing picture data by a binary/multi-value processing picture data by a binary/multi- value processing conversion section 56, the resolution of the multi-value processing picture data is converted at a magnification/reduction circuit 57 according to the magnification/reduction algorithm and the resulting data is outputted to a printer section. |
