PURPOSE:To obtain the subject prepreg good in the resin's settability in laminating bonding press molding by reaction of a bismaleimide compound with a diamine compound in a specific reaction solvent and by adding a nitrogen-contg. solvent to a varnish prepared from the resulting reaction product followed by impregnating a base material with the resultant varnish. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, (A) a bismaleimide compound like N,N'- ethylenebismaleimide is made to react with (B) a diamine compound in an alkylene glycol alkyl ether as reaction solvent to produce a polyaminobismaleimide. A nitrogen-contg. solvent such as N,N- dimethylformamide as reactivity control solvent is then added to a varnish prepared from the above polyaminobismaleimide. Thence, a base material like glass cloth is impregnated with the resulting varnish followed by removing the solvent through heating and drying, thus providing the objective prepreg short in the resin's gelling time. |
