The power transmission arrangement absorbs axial impulses as these may occur e.g. in ship propeller shafts or in an vehicle steering column. The shaft (1) fits inside a tube (2). The shaft and the tube are joined by a wedge (3) and a frangible pin (9) passing through holes (6,7) in the shaft and tube. A tubular component (4,10) is positioned at one end of the pipe which covers the hole in the pipe.
