The invention relates to a device (1) for moistening labels (2) having one side pre-gummed, which enables the pre-gummed face of the labels to be moistened uniformly. The device (1) includes a moistening element constituted by a rigid bar (4) through whose upper part in contact with the gummed side of the labels pass, along the direction of movement of the labels against the bar, capillarity slots (8) whose respective bottoms (9) are bathed in a moistening liquid held at a constant level.
