PURPOSE:To perform accurate image recognition based upon pattern matching. CONSTITUTION:Projection data ttheta1p (theta1'), ttheta2p (theta2'), and txp (y) are obtained by cumulating binary image data of a template which has a target mark (triangle) in an optional direction matching the shape of the mark. The directions of the scanning lines of those data are matched with the directions of the sides of the target mark (triangle) and the problem that an error varies with the shape of a figure can, therefore, be evaded in a process for matching the image data including the target mark obtained by the same method with the projection data as compared with a conventional system which generates projection data at a fixed angle. |
