The electron beam tube has a grid arrangement with a cathode and two grid electrodes in the beam direction. The first grid electrode has a carrier with an aperture and stop spanning the aperture, connected at the edge to the carrier and with a central beam opening. The first grid stop has a pot-shaped curvature in its inner region towards the second grid electrode extending over the edge of the first carrier aperture.
