The invention relates to a method for combating ectoparasites. More particularly, it relates to a treatment method in which the warm-blooded animal receives a dose of an effective amount, from the ovicidal viewpoint, of a heterocyclic compound containing nitrogen chosen from the group represented by the formula: <IMAGE> in which R1 is one of the following groups: <IMAGE> in which R7, R8, R9, R10, R11, R12, R13, R14, R15 , R16 and R17, which are identical or different, are each a hydrogen or halogen atom, a C1-4 alkoxy group, a C1-4 alkylthio group, a trifluoromethyl group or a nitro group; R18, R19, R20 and R21, which are identical or different, are each a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, k is an integer from 0 to 1 and l is an integer from 0 to 3; R2 and R3, which are identical or different, are each a hydrogen or halogen atom or a methyl group; R4 is a halogen atom or a methyl group; R5 and R6, which are identical or different, are each a hydrogen or halogen atom or a C1-4 haloalkyl or C1-4 haloalkoxy group; X, Y and Z, which are identical or different, are each an oxygen or sulphur atom or a methylene group, m is an integer from 0 to 4 and n is an integer from 0 to 2, which is transmitted to the ectoparasite via the blood of the animal. According to another aspect, a compound chosen from the group consisting of ivermectin, milbemycin, milbemycin oxime, moxidectin and avermectin and avermectin derivatives is also used. |
