<p>An optical disk drive includes a coarse tracking actuator 4 for driving an optical head 1, a fine tracking actuator 3 for driving an objective lens 24 on said optical head, and tracking error detecting means 7 for generating a tracking error signal indicating a positional difference between an optical spot irradiated on an optical disk 5 and a target track. The optical disk drive further includes means 200 for indicating whether the number of tracks from a current track to the target track is less than a predetermined number of tracks and drives the fine actuator 3 in the tracking direction under the velocity control based on a tracking error signal only if the number of tracks from the current track to the target track is less than the predetermined number of tracks. <IMAGE></p> |
