摘要

An improved pattern detection algorithm is implemented for detecting the X3B11 Write Protect FLAG pattern in each sector of an optical data disk. Transitions in the data only between bits of a first predetermined value and bits of a second predetermined value are observed. The transitions are counted, and the FLAG pattern is identified when the transitions achieve a predetermined count within a predefined window, programmable by the user. The detection algorithm of this invention has application to repetitive data patterns other than the one described.
