A variable-speed digital signal reproducing device, particularly, for slow speed reproduction of signals, such as voice, digitally recorded on a recording medium. During the variable-speed reproduction, a detector means detects whether the PCM signal for reproduction has been updated. Only when it is an updated signal, one frame of the PCM data is written in a memory, the PCM data are read out at a frequency rate corresponding to the tape reproduction speed, and the PCM data are passed through a non-cyclic digital low-pass filter that is varied by subtracting a coefficient depending on the speed of reproduction, thereby to obtain PCM reproduced signals of a high quality that permit high-order interpolation and that are converted into a frequency proportional to the speed of reproducing the tape.
