PURPOSE: To position a transducer alley precisely without manual operation by providing an electric motor which rotates the transducer alley so that a plurality of scanning planes for obtaining a plurality of corresponding two-dimensional cross-sectional images are produced. CONSTITUTION: When a switch mechanism 60 is operated and an electric motor 42 is started, a first gear 50 rotates through a shaft 48, and a second gear 52 rotates due to the rotation of the first gear 50. Next, shafts 51, 53 are driven by the rotation of the gear 52, and a flexible drive shaft 24 is driven by the drive of the shaft 51 so that a transducer alley is rotated to a plurality of angular positions. Image data corresponding to two-dimensional cross-sectional images are generated by a remote imaging electronic means 64 through a line 69 for each angular position. Consequently, the control of precise positioning of the transducer alley becomes possible. |
