PURPOSE:To obtain the title sheet having good transfer sensitivity and capable of imparting recording matter of high image quality, in an infrared heating type thermal transfer recording sheet having a layer containing a thermal transfer dye and an infrared absorbing substance on a base film, using a specific polymethine compound as the infrared absorbing substance. CONSTITUTION:In a sheet having a layer containing a thermal transfer dye and an infrared absorbing substance on a base film and used in thermal transfer recording using infrared rays as a heating means, as the infrared absorbing substance, a polymethine compound represented by formula (where R<1> and R<2> are H, an alkyl group or an aryl group which may be substituted and Z<-> is a cation) is used. As a result, the title sheet having good transfer sensitivity and capable of imparting recording matter of high image quality can be obtained. |
