PURPOSE:To produce an alkenylbenzene in high efficiency by reacting an alkylbenzene with a conjugated diolefin. CONSTITUTION:An alkenylbenzene is produced by reacting an alkylbenzene with a conjugated diolefin essentially in the absence of oxygen and water and in the presence of a catalyst produced by mixing and dispersing (a) metallic sodium and (b) an organic acid potassium salt.
