For the controlled, limited proteolytic cleavage of proteins, especially proenzymes, a treatment is carried out with proteases in the presence of a detergent or in the presence of a chaotropic substance, with the exception of procoagulant salts. This results in enzymes or protein fragments. The method is particularly explained by a procedure which is simple to carry out for specific cleavage of prothrombin to obtain thrombin. <IMAGE> |
