PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material generating no lowering in the density of a recording image under a high temp. and high humidity condition by providing a thermal color forming layer containing a colorless color forming compound, a specific developing compound and a specific storage stabilizer on a support. CONSTITUTION:A colorless electron donating color forming dye precursor, 4,4-dihydroxydiphenyl sulfone as an electron acceptive developing compound and a compound represented by formula I or II are compounded with an aqueous medium along with a water-soluble polymeric compound in a predetermined ratio to prepare a coating solution for a thermal color forming layer. This coating solution is applied to a support such as paper or a plastic sheet and dried to form the thermal color forming layer to obtain a thermal recording material. Further, a hot-melt substance such as phenyl 1-hydroxy-2- phenylesternaophthoate, p-benzylbiphenyl or benzylnaphthyl ether can be compounded with the thermal color forming layer as a sensitizer. |
