PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material imparting a color image having good storage stability by providing a thermal recording layer containing a specific electron donating color forming compound and an electron acceptive compound represented by a specific general formula. CONSTITUTION:A predetermined amount of an electron donating color forming compound being a specific fluorane compound such as 3-N, N-di-n-butylamino-6- methyl-7-anillnofluorane or 3-N, N-di-n-pentylamino-6-methyl-7-anilinofluorane and a predetermined amount of an electron acceptive compound being a compound represented by formula I (where R is a phenyl group or a cyclohexyl group) are ground and dispersed within a binder to prepare a coating solution for a thermal recording layer. This coating solution is applied to a support such as paper or a plastic film and dried to form the thermal recording layer to obtain a thermal recording material. As a suitable example of the compound represented by the formula I, there is bis(3-phenyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)sulfide. |
