The invention relates to an emission head for a flash-radiography apparatus, acting as interface between an (EHT) electrical pulse source and an X-ray generator tube (9); it comprises a tubular metal casing (6, 7, 8) from which the said generator tube emerges, supplied via a coaxial cable (2) by the pulse source; the internal volume of the said casing is filled by an insulating piece (15) including two axial cavities (17, 18) which respectively receive the end of the coaxial cable (2) and the generator tube (9). Grooves (27, 28) are hollowed out in the inner surface of each of the cavities (17, 18), which grooves can increase the path length which an electric arc running along this surface has to cover in order to propagate from one end of the cavity to the other. This arrangement makes it possible to increase the value of the X-ray doses delivered by the tube (9). <IMAGE>
