PURPOSE:To display 'KANA' (Japanese syllabary) characters for giving the pronunciation of a Chinese character at the time of checking 'KANA'/'KANJI' (Chinese character) conversion by providing this Japanese input device with a reading 'KANA' character code storing means, a 'KANA'/'KANJI' conversion means, a means for determining the number of 'KANA' characters for pronunciation, and a means for displaying 'KANA' characters on a 'KANJI'. CONSTITUTION:When reading information is inputted by an input device 1, 'KANA' character codes are set up in an input buffer 2 and 'KANA' characters are displayed on a display. When a 'KANJI' conversion key is depressed, corresponding 'KANJI' codes are successively read out from a dictionary memory 3, and the relevant 'KANJI' appears, the number of 'KANA' characters to be displayed is determined based upon the number of converted 'KANJI' characters. Namely character allocation can be uniformly determined. When the allocation of 'KANA' characters to 'KANJI' characters is determined at the rate of 2 to 1 for instance, almost all 'KANA' characters for pronuniation can be displayed though some allocation may be difficult. Consequently 'KANA' characters for pronunciation can be automatically given by a simple device at the time of 'KANA'/'KANJI' conversion. |
