The present invention relates to a railway sole plate and sleeper, as well as to railway switchgears comprising them. The sole plate (4) according to the invention has, with a view to receiving a member (46) for mounting on a sleeper (2), a hole (43) located in a region (51) of the face (26) for receiving the foot (27) of a rail (1), capable of being covered at least partially by this foot (27). This sole plate (4) according to the invention is more particularly intended to be mounted on a sleeper (2) according to the invention, comprising, with a view to receiving members (46, 47) for mounting a sole plate (4) holes (18, 19), of which the one nearer one of its end faces (12) is located less than 150 mm therefrom, for example of the order of 130 mm therefrom. The use of such a sleeper (2) and such a sole plate (4) makes it possible to ensure independence of the tracks on leaving the switching frog. <IMAGE>
