PURPOSE: To provide an electric socket in which the durability of a latch member is improved. CONSTITUTION: A slot 22 for the purpose of inserting the base terminal of a circuit substrate is formed in the socket body 14 of socket 12 and a coil spring 66 is inserted in a hole 26 continuing to downward of this slot 22. Near both end parts of the slot 22, latch member 38 for pinching the circuit substrate are subjected to mold formation integrally with the socket body 14. A projection 46 of this latch member 38 engages with the slit of the circuit substrate. A metallic reinforcement plate 54 is arranged behind the latch member 38. Any excessive deflection in the latch member 38 taking place at the time of attaching/detaching the circuit substrate to/from the slot 22 of a socket 2 is restricted by the metallic reinforcement plate 54. In addition, since the circuit substrate inserted in the slot 22 is subjected to application of the force of a coil spring 66 so as to be pushed upward, the projection 46 of the latch member 38 and the slit of the circuit substrate engage each other strongly. |
