PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming pearl gloss coating film in which the boundary part or color change between the highlight part rectangular to the direction of an incident light and the shade part slanted to the direction of the incident light looks changing gradually and shows pearl gloss, and a coated product obtainable by the method. SOLUTION: In this method for forming pearl gloss coating film, a color base coating film layer having an L value of 65-100 is formed on a substrate, then an interference clear coat layer containing a interference pigment is formed on the color base coating film layer, and further a feat top clear coat layer containing a flatting agent is formed.
