PURPOSE:To obtain the coating method for an optical fiber juncture which is simple in handling and can inexpensively reinforce the optical fiber juncture. CONSTITUTION:One of two pieces of the optical fibers 1, 2 to be fusion spliced is previously passed in a tube 4 made of UV transmittable plastic bored with holes 3 at least at >=1 points on the outer periphery. After the optical fibers 1, 2 are fusion spliced, the tube 4 is slid and is put on the juncture 5 of the optical fibers 1, 2 and a UV curing resin is injected from the holes 3 into the tube 4 to cover the juncture 5. The UV curing resin is irradiated with UV rays from above the tube 4 through the tube and is thereby cured; thereafter, the tube 4 is melted away. |
