Femoral head constituting a part of a hip prosthesis, of spherical type and provided with a frustoconical recess intended to receive the free end of a femoral stem (12), itself intended to be introduced, especially in the medullary cavity (canal) of the femur (14), the free end of which stem is frustoconical so as to be able to interlock with the frustoconical recess of the femoral head, characterised in that it comprises, at its base, at least one hollow housing intended to receive the end of an impact extractor.
