The car aerial has a common antenna element (1) with the same foot point providing several different radiator sections for corresponding frequency ranges, the overall length of the antenna (1) corresponding to an even fraction of the operating wavelength for the lowest frequency range. The higher or highest frequency band section(s) has a parallel oscillation circuit acting as a blocking circuit for the higher frequency signals and as a low ohmic circuit for the lower frequency signals, provided by a conductor (5) parallel to the antenna element (1) and relatively insulated from the antenna line (3) and coupled to the corresponding antenna section at each end. The geometric length of the parallel oscillation circuit is defined by a given equation in terms of the mean operating wavelength. ADVANTAGE - Good reception characteristic for all frequency ranges.
