The appts. for improving optical resolution of colour pictures produced by computer controlled active and passive displays has a display (22) which is moved (14, 15) in a defined path with a shutter (3) attached to it. Integral lenses (2) are formed in the shutter. The display, shutter and lenses are moved in front of a light receiving wall (5). The shutter and lenses focus the light signals of the display elements (1) onto inlet apertures (6) of thin light conducting cables (6, 7) in the light receiving wall. The cables guide their light signals to a light outlet wall (11). The outlet wall has very thin mixed colour light conductive end cables (10, 16). ADVANTAGE - Provides high resolution pictures and improved reproduction using compact system.
