A clip insulator (4') formed of electrically-insulating material for electrically isolating from the rail (3) a railway rail fastening clip (1'), made of a rod of resilient material bent so as to be approximately M-shaped inplan, the region on the clip (1') which is to bear on the rail (3) being at least part of the interconnecting portion (14') between the inner legs of the M, can be carried by the said clip (1') so as to surround said region thereon. An anchoring device insulator (570) formed of electrically-insulating material, for electrically isolating a rail clip anchoring device (250) from a railway rail (3), has first and second plate-like parts which adjoin one another at an angle, greater than 0 DEG , which is such that the insulator (570) can be placed with its first plate-like part resting on a ledge portion of the anchoring device (250) and its second plate-like part in contact with a face of the anchoring device (250) which adjoins said ledge portion and is adjacent to the foot of the rail (3) when the device (250) is in use, and also has insulator locating means for locating the insulator (570) relative to the said anchoring device (250). Such insulators (4'; 570) are preferably used in combination.
